What is a Collection?

A plain-language explanation of Collections in Phygii.

Collections Explained

A Collection is a curated gallery of media items — photos, 360° images, and other captured content — grouped together for a specific purpose. You can think of it as a custom album that draws from the media across your locations and projects.

What Collections Are Used For

Collections are useful when you want to present a focused set of images to someone without giving them access to the entire platform. Common uses include:

  • Sharing before-and-after photos of a renovation with a property owner
  • Providing a contractor with reference images of a specific area of a facility
  • Creating a visual record of a completed project for internal stakeholders
  • Sending a curated view of a property to someone who does not have a Phygii account

Where to Find Collections

Click Collections in the left sidebar under the Manage section to see all collections in your organization. Collections are also accessible from the Collections tab on location and project detail pages.

Public vs. Private Collections

Collections can be set to public or private:

  • A public collection can be accessed by anyone with the shareable link — no Phygii login is required. This makes it easy to share media with people outside your organization.
  • A private collection is only accessible to logged-in users who have permission to view it.
