Creating and Managing Points of Interest
A guide to creating and using Points of Interest in Phygii.
What Is a Point of Interest?
A Point of Interest (POI) is a named marker you place on the map at a specific spot on a property. Use POIs to call out notable features, problem areas, equipment locations, or anything else you want to highlight for your team.
Creating a Point of Interest
There are two ways to create a POI:
Option 1: Right-Click on the Map
- Navigate to the location on the map where you want to place the marker.
- Right-click on the exact spot.
- Select New point of interest from the context menu.
- A dialog opens with the coordinates pre-filled.
Option 2: Use the Tools Menu
- Open the map tools menu and activate the Point of Interest tool.
- Click on the map where you want to place the marker.
- The creation dialog opens.
- In this mode, the tool stays active after each creation so you can place multiple POIs in sequence.
Fields to Fill In
- Name (required) — A short label for the point.
- Project (required) — Which project this POI belongs to.
- Level (required) — The floor or level.
- Information (required) — A description or notes about this point.
- Color — Choose a color for the map marker.
- Flagged — Check this to mark the POI as flagged (renders in red).
- Tags — Optionally add tags for categorization.
Viewing and Editing POIs
POIs appear as markers on the map when the Points of Interest layer is enabled. Click any POI marker to view its details. If you created the POI, you can edit its name, description, tags, and other fields.
