De-clustering Imagery on the Map
A guide to de-clustering imagery markers on the Phygii map.
What Is Clustering?
When a location has many media items captured close together, Phygii groups nearby markers into clusters to keep the map readable. A cluster appears as a single marker with a number showing how many items are grouped inside it.
Clustering is turned on by default.
How to De-cluster
To see every individual media marker instead of grouped clusters:
- Look for the Cluster/Decluster button in the map controls (on the right side of the map). It shows a map marker icon.
- Hover over it to see the tooltip — it will say Decluster when clustering is currently on.
- Click the button. All clusters will expand into individual pins at their exact capture positions.
Re-clustering
To turn clustering back on, click the same button again. The tooltip will now say Cluster. Nearby markers will group back into clusters.
When to Use De-clustering
De-clustering is most useful when you need to:
- See exactly where every photo was taken at a dense location
- Select specific images from a tightly packed area
- Verify that field coverage is complete for a specific zone
For locations with fewer media items, you may not notice a difference between clustered and de-clustered views.
